Kraft Plus - April

Yay... ran madly to Bunnings yesterday to get paint swatches (Probs took too many, but I think I might use them again on a page!).... and then got this page done just in time!

I've got this thing about trying to pump out multi-photo layouts lately. I'm really keen to get more photos on a page to tell the stories I need to tell.

Did some painty mess with the new Colour Blast Shimmer Cubes (in Just Blue) on the background, even using it to paint one of my Charms Creations DIYs (the +).

I also hand cut a few more pluses from the paint swatches.

Sticker words from Flutterby Designs are epic and awesome for any page! Also some resin hearts from Corbin Creations.

And yes I hand stuck each and every one of those little black stars - stupid little buggers! Yeah - but it looks good! LOL.

Thanks for looking.

All About Scrapbooks - March pages

I have been lucky enough to join the team at All About Scrapbooks.... so many amazing papers and products to work with.

Here are my pages shared during March.

"Captured"

Do you ever get your hands on a beautiful piece of paper, and the only possible thing to do is to fussy cut it? That's how I started out with this page, when I found one of the amazing floral papers from the  Pink Paislee Take Me Away collection.

I used the combination of 5 different pieces of paper from the range (listed below) and used them in the layers behind the photo, in the strips and the background and of course for the fussy cutting. The whole page is also mounted on a white cardstock base, my favourite thing to do.

Once I had the papers sorted, I looked for some bits and pieces to add the clusters to finish the page. You can see some of these details in close ups.

Firstly I inked some 2Crafty Butterflies using Prima Chalk Ink, once nestled in the flower I added a coat of Dimensional Magic

Under the layers of the fussy cut flower, I tucked some white hearts and vines from the awesome Thickers pack that come in the Take Me Away range.

Some of the grey colour tones in the diecuts from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Love Always collection matched the colour tones of this page, so I had these into the clusters also. I also sprinkled some crystals from the Bits and pieces pack and also some sparkly enamel dots.

"Enjoy"

Here us with a bright page using some Fancy Pants paper, from the Joy Parade collection.

With these bright and fun papers, I did bring in some white cardstock, for the background and to mount around the photo and papers. I used the different patterns and colours of the Joy Parade papers, in strips and blocks, to build up layers behind the photo.

Another focal point of the page is the awesome 2Crafty Handdrawn Heart, used to frame the photo, which I have inked black and added a coat of Dimensional Magic to.

Here in the close ups, you will see some of the cute little finishes I added to complete the page.

Firstly I used the Design Puffy Stickers, also from the Fancy Pants Joy Parade collection - this includes the "ENJOY" title, some of the hearts and triangles. I also added some Simple Stories stickers and a flower from a Cocoa Vanilla Studio pack.

I hope you "enjoyed" this page!!!!

"A Moment Captured"

My inspiration for this page started with the beautiful 2 Crafty Frame Doilies. After I inked them, I cut some patterned papers to fit within the frames. I chose the subtle greys, teals and browns from some Pink Paislee and Crate Paper patterned papers. I repeated the circle and scalloped circles by punching a few shapes with my good old shape punches.
I wanted to keep the background to these papers and frames simple, so I went with a Kraft Cardstock background, perfect for vintage layouts and old black and white photos. I did some stamping with a Kaisercraft texture stamp, the subtle grid patterned added just a little interest to the Kraft background.
A few strips of paper along the bottom and I am ready to embellish! I did ink the edges of all my papers and I love the way this simple technique adds definition to the paper on the page.
If there is one thing you will get to know about me, it is that my favourite part of any page is in the little details I put into finishing. I love finishing, I love embellishing, I love diving into my stash to find the perfect little item to finish a page.
You will see some of these in these close ups:

I embossed a 2Crafty Elegant Flourish and used this as a focal point of the page.
I clustered sequins from my stash and Cocoa Vanilla Studio resin from the
Love Always Bits and Pieces bag, along the flourish.

I also embossed this perfect 2Crafty chipboard word as my title.

I also embossed some old charms from my stash to include in these little clusters.
I do love these little sticker words from the Cocoa Vanilla Sticker sheet, and you will
see them scattered on this page - they are great little finishers! And always add
Cocoa Vanilla enamel dots to clusters too!

"Hooray"

 Got a party to scrapbook?
Then you are in the right place!
Party Layout coming right at ya!

I used the Kaisercraft Party Time collection to create this page.

As well as some of the awesome papers in the range, I also used both the diecuts and
stickers from this collection to add detail to this page.

Check out these close ups to see other things used to finish the page:

The fun and funky puffy stickers from the Fancy Pants Joy Parade collection were
fabulous for this page.
Added to that are some sequins from my stash, and flowers and enamel shapes from
Cocoa Vanilla - perfect finishing touches.

Don't forget to use foam tape on die cuts to make them pop off your page.

Diecut words can be enhanced as your titles, when you carefully add Dimensional Magic
to them once they are stuck down. Anything to add dimensional and shine to a page!

Show Us Your Stuff - April 2017

Hello April! Hello to this great challenge at Show us your stuff!

Image may contain: 1 person, text

I started with some patterned paper, which I added a layer of Colour Paste (in Leather). I also used some Colour Shimmer Dust to create a water colour effect on the background.

The green leaves, were a die cut from a Cricut machine, which I have painted and stitched to the page. I add a few stripes of washi tape along these vines, as well as adding some flowers and stamens (thank you D-lish Scraps), all stapled down.

The cute dog embellishment from Charms Creations was perfect for this page... I just love this!

This LOVE wood veneer speech bubble, is designed by Rainbow Splendour and made by Corbett Creations.

Scrap the Boys - April 2017

Another month for a challenge at Scrap the Boys!

This is all about helping out...

And the one boy in our house, is a fabulous helper! Here is my page and some close ups.

Yup.... Dave doing the ironing, bless him!

I created some interest to the background, by adding Heavy White Gesso through a triangle stencil with a sponge, then a layer of Colour Paste (Deep Water) through the spotty stencil, then finally a splattering and smooshing some Heavy Black Gesso. Colour Blast has so many products to use for your backgrounds! Layers of paper and some machine stitching too!

Some more great Aussie products here....
Charms Creations XO's
Rainbow Splendour glitter stars
Studio 1440 word strip
D-lish Scraps enamel dots
and Flutterby Designs stickers... a few word enhancers in there too!

Yup, he is...

I love it that Scrap the Boys challenges me to scrap things I never would!

Thanks for looking
