Show Us Your Stuff - February

Oh my.... a fun sketch for us at SHOW US YOUR STUFF.....

No automatic alt text available.

Did you know that SUYS started as a challenge blog design to showcase awesome handmade stuff for scrapbooking? We have gotten lazy now that we have so many products available to us. By the same token, we are also lucky enough to enough to have some amazing all-Aussie companies that work VERY hard to make handmade products for them. So when we ask you to "show us your stuff", we want to see handmade... we want to support our all Aussie handmade companies!

Here is my page and close ups....

I used a little Colour Blast Paste and Shimmer spray on the background, but also teamed up some paper strips from my paper scraps pile.
I added layers behind the photo, but also some medical gauze.
I replaced the tags in the sketch, with some circular elements - love diving into the stash every now and then to find these bits and pieces!

And here is the handmade stuff....

Awesome denim/red/blue heart from Charms Creations.

Spotty Felt bow from Rainbow Splendour

Flair from D-lish Scraps

3 of my favourite handmade places right there!

Not to forget the AWESOME stickers designed by lovely Anita at Flutterby Designs... man, her word stickers find their way onto every page!

Thanks for looking,
Amanda

Artastic - January challenge

Always cool challenges at Artastic, and I have added it to my list to try and get done every month!

I love this month's inspiration:
Plus: CITY theme.

Here is my page, featuring a photo of me with some friends after a night out in Toronto:

I painted the black cardstock with Colour Blast Black Gesso, which may seem silly. However, the layer of gesso meant that I could add Colour Shimmer Sprays and water, and it pooled on the surface (rather than soaking right in), giving me time to blow (with a straw) the colour across the page. I was trying to make it look like fireworks! Lots of splatters and sprays too.

Thanks for looking today!

"Picture This" January 2017

Hi again,

Another challenge at Picture This! An awesome challenge of using mixed media and texture.

To create my background:

I stamped  or drew the circles.

In some circles, I used Colour Paste (from Colour Blast Australia) through a stencil (the brown script effect).
In other circles, I painted Colour Paste (the gold).
The green circles are created by painting with Colour Shimmer Dust (Colour Blast).
I also splatter the paints on the background.

Extra texture was added behind the photo with some muslin.

I created a couple of clusters, with leaves, flowers, enamel shapes (from D-lish Scraps), as well as the awesome Hessian butterfly heart from Charms Creations.

Thanks for looking and the inspiration to create a mixed background!
