Scrap the Boys - August 2016

Okay.............. let's get real..... this is all a challenge for me.... but I always love a good challenge!

I am one of the newest team members for Scrap the Boys! What a great excuse to scrapbook the boys/men in my life?!

And this month is my first official page!

This months challenge::

I took a slightly different slant on the challenge, as it was Nana that was NOT HAPPY, not the boys!

Here is my page and some close ups:

I love that I can document favourite family stories like this one, through scrapbooking!

Close up of some awesome Charms Creations.

My background created with black texture paste, water colours (orange), white house paint and black stamping......

Anyway, happy to share this page and happy to be a part of the STB team. No unhappiness here...

Thanks for looking,

White with One - August 2016

Here is my page for WW1 AUGUST

Sometimes all you need is a perfectly matched piece of paper.....

..... and some clusters of magenta and white flowers!

Thanks for looking....

Show Us Your Stuff - AUGUST 2016

Another new challenge at SUYS for August....

I suppose whether a patterned paper is ugly or not is pretty subjective, but in a recent survey at the Scrap and Chat retreat in Melbourne, this paper was unanimously voted as ugly. I tried to offload it to Sue Plumb to use, but she refused, so I accepted the challenge!

So here is my page and some close ups:
Nothing like covering ugly paper with some white gesso and texture paste! I used painted the page using the new Colour Blast Mica Powders mixed with water (makes it look shimmery and shiny in real life!). Additional detail was added with some stamping.

In the close ups you will see the amazing handmade details from some great Aussie companies:
Charms Creations: Music paper arrow
Funky Flairs Studio: Black and white flairs
Burdy Embellies: Cool cogs
Rainbow Splendour: Epoxy flair
Corbett Creations: Wood veneer circle from D-lish Scraps

I think I turned something ugly into something beautiful!

Thanks for looking.

Scrap the Girls - August 2016

Check out this beautiful mood board for Scrap the girls.... all my fave colours here....

Here is my page and some close ups:
Seems cool to share this page of a photo of me and cool scrapping friend, Sue Plumb!

This page started with the Kaisercraft Mandela stencil I got from Scrapbooking Delights. I used an archival, no run pen, to trace the stencil to the page. Then I use simple watercolour paints to colour the mandela shapes. A small spray of Colour Blast colour sprays and I was ready to embellish!

Charms Creations: Hessian heart, as well as a DIY flag and tab (which I coloured blue with watercolours)

Finished with a few flowers and bits from D-lish.... and I was super happy with this layout!

Thanks for looking!
