Jot Magazine Mood Board - May

A different but really cool mood board this month at Jot. Decided to join in. YAY to free scrapping time for challenges!

sharmainesMayMoodBoard

Here is my page and some close ups...

I used grey and blue watercolour paints to create this background, as well as a some stamping.
My sewing machine was going a little highwire during this page, with the needle snapping and generally being uncooperative. I decided to leave it as it was, stapling the lose threads, as I think it added to the messy/grungy feel.

I found a collage image of old floppy disks in google images, and printed it onto vellum. I painted this with the blue watercolour paint and added it as a layer behind the photo.

Used a Charms Creations Map Marker.

And a Geometric Pretty Pin from Rainbow Splendour.

I have no idea where the blue plane came from, but just another little thing to add to my page from my stash!

That's it! Thanks for looking.

Scrapbooking Top 50 - May

A fun tic tac toe colour challenge board at Scrapbooking Top 50 this month!

As you can see, I went with a few of my favourite colours in a row: aqua, pink and yellow.

Here is my page and some close ups:
I used my star stencil from Flutterby Designs to create the texture background. I also gesso'd the background so I could use watercolour paints, which is how I added the pink and yellow. A few splatters here and there always works! Then I use the acrylic paint from Flutterby Designs to add the touches of aqua paint on the edges and also to paint the stars.

You can see in these close up, some of the layers I used, with punchinella, raffia, hessian, stickers and staples.

The highlights are the handmade bits from my good friends:
Banner and White Emoji from Charms Creations
Pretty spotty pin and yellow leaf from Rainbow Splendour
Love heart from Burdys Embellies.

Thanks for looking, and thanks for a fun challenge.

Scrapping Clearly May Sketch

Hi everyone,

I had such fun doing the NSD challenges at Scrapping Clearly, I decided to have a go at their sketch this month.

Here is my page and some close ups.....

Features some cool stuff from Flutterby Designs> New website is HERE!

I started with Flutterby Designs colour paint on the background, including the paint splatters and swirls, done by dripping the paint of the end of a paintbrush. I layered a doiley under the photo and twine around it. Then added the extra details.

Used a variety of Die Cuts from Pink Paislee and Heidi Swapp,
Stickers from Jillibean soup,
DIY flair (lightly painted) & Strip words from Flutterby Designs.

Load on some flowers from D-lish Scraps and you are set!

Thanks Scrapping Clearly for a great sketch, I'm glad I got to play along.

Kraft Plus - guest designer for May

Being on the team with Charms Creations is pretty cool all round. But especially when we get to Guest Design for Kraft plus.

This month's challenge:

Current Challenge

And my page....

I focused on the star burst for my background: ruling lines and then using gesso and water colours, as well as the white paint splatters. I also used a spotty stencil and some ink to create the dots in the background. Used black Posca paint pen to highlight the sunburst rays!

HELLO cute Charms Creation Emoji Kiss face!!!!

Then raided my stash of sticker words and diecuts and embellishments to finish it off!

Fun times, thanks for looking.
