Inspired by these colours!

I really loved the colours in the Scrapbook Creations Inspiration Board this month.....
March's Inspiration Board Challenge

I created this layout,  mostly inspired by the colours. I loosely followed the sketch, but found I had to move around some of the elements because of the text-background patterned paper I chose to use. I moved things around a lot before I was happy! lol!

PS> more distress stains and gelatos on the background.... I am a little hooked!

As a big supporter and fan of APOCD, I was excited to see them as sponsor this month for this challenge!

Thanks for looking!

SFS March SKETCH challenge

Here is my page for the SKETCH challenge at Scrapbooking from Scratch.

Based on this sketch:

Here's my page.

Started with a MME kraft paper, and added some mists and circles (from the mist lid) and random black stamping. You can't really see my black doodled border because of the photo.
Some scraps of paper from my paper stash.
Embellishments: enamel dots and stickers, twine, and a gorgeous RAINBOW SPLENDOUR bow.

Thanks for looking, a fun sketch!

Sassy Scrapper Mood Board - March challenge

GREAT colours in this mood board at Sassy Scrappers...

Check out the challenge here.

Inspired my page:

Messy layered background with gesso, misting, stamping....
Finished with: paper doilies, washi, scrap of patterned paper, stickers, buttons and sequins, and a Rainbow Splendour felt bow (so sweet!).

Great colour combo! Glad I could join in!

Scrap Around the World - March challenge

Check out this beautiful Mood board at Scrap Around the World.

Find the challenge here.

I created this page, inspired by the pinks and the paints and the pretty stuff.

The most important thing about this page, is the background... Hand-doodled! On my recent scrap retreat, my table buddy was Nicolee Cable and one afternoon she started doodling on her page. After a little while, I think the doodling caught on and I gave it a go! Thanks Nic for the inspiration - cannot believe how awesome it turned out.

I also used gelatos - with plastic bag stamping, as demo'ed by the totally cool Leonie Neal-Dawson.

Everything just worked perfectly once the background was done - simple embellishments, muslin and washi and sequins...

Well, I love it!

Thanks for looking,

Amanda

123 challenge for February

So.... I went and did it again - another "messy" background - this time for 123 February challenge, which was:

OUR FEBRUARY CHALLENGE:

COLOUR = PURPLE
WORD = SPIRIT
TECHNIQUE = TEXTURE (*Anything that will give your page texture)
And here's my page:
I used texture paint and mists through a couple of masks, before finishing with sequins and embellishments, including:
A Rainbow Splendour felt flower, and
APOCD flair.

And whoops - journaling got cut off - I couldn't get my photo straight! Its says " Always happy and cheerful! Jessie and her beloved Daddy" - as my youngest daughter always seems to be the happy, and always "in good spirits", especially when she's with her Dad!

Thanks for looking,
Amanda

Kraft it Up! February challenge

Wow I had fun creating this background for Kraft it Up! Feb challenge. All you needed to do was to use KRAFT and create about something you LOVE - and what's not to love about a day at the beach with these 3 gorgeous girls!??

Used texture paints through my APOCD mask and my old watercolour paints.
Add washi and stickers and bits and pieces!
Don't forget the very cool Charms Creations CLOUD!

Show Us Your Stuff MARCH challenge

Hello again,

I enjoyed putting together my page for SUYS this month, which was to use a photo board prompt AND, of course, a HANDMADE embellishment.

Go here to check out the challenge and be inspired by the other SUYS design team members.

Here is my page....

A simple page in many ways - just one patterned paper (green MME paper) and a neutral background. All of my design is in the layers behind the photo - with cards, vellum, doilies, stamping and stickers.
My handmade embellishments include: Charms Creations Lollipop, Flair from Flutterby Designs and an old Fimo cloud from my stash - I know its handmade, but I have had it so long, I can't remember who made it! Oops!

Although, I must say - I did miss my sweet Millie cat when I made this layout.... may she rest in peace (lost her this time last year).

Please join us in our challenge this months at SUYS!

Thanks,
Amanda

Scrap the Girls MARCH Challenge

As a mother of three girls, being on the SCRAP the GIRLS design team is kinda perfect for me! So much material to work with!

We would LOVE you to join us this month - that's why we kept the challenge simple this month:

Use a heart AND/OR doily somewhere on your layout

Sponsored by Charms Creations this month, we were lucky enough to have a Heavenly Heart to work with! And can I tell you another cool thing -- last weekend I got to meet "Charm" in real life at a scrap retreat. Charmane is totally awesome, incredibly creative and inspiring, and it was wonderful to meet her after all these years of being friends online!

ANYWAY..... here's my page:

Photo taken on our recent holiday to Hervey Bay.

Papers: Crate, MME, black cardstock and scraps
Embellishments: APOCD flairs, MAMBI black stickers, bling strips (old stuff from my stash!),
paper roses, puffy stickers, wooden scrabble letter.
I actually mounted the Charms Heart onto black cardstock to help it really stand out on the page.
