well the 123 challenge had me stumped for a little while this month...
I couldn't find any leather.... until finally i decided to sacrifice a leather (probably vinyl) plaited headband...
Paper: Prima (new stuff- yum)
Letters: Prima, Basic grey and Thickers
Embellishments: Gold mesh ribbon, plus some white lace that I painted with gold smooch ink, prima wooden buttons and flower and cotton tape, gold charms and brads and stars (from the stash). Paint, more smooch, stitching.
My FAVOURITE thing... the ZIPPERFLY... made by the uber-talented Corinne at Handmade Halo.
And the twisted gold flower from Precocious Paper, which is pretty spesh!
So in the end it all came together... Plus this photo of me looking totally skinny and hot is kinda cool too!
So this month at SCrap the girls... it was easy - use distressing and the word LOVE...
Here's my page:
Papers: Cosmo Cricket Clementine (from RES), plus I used the SASSAFRAS foldie flowers that I stole from Moira's stash- she didn't want them..??!!
Embellishments: Neutral rosette, flowers, doilie and clouds from Lil Something, Prima flowers and crystals, yellow twisted flower from Precocious paper (I bought from her Etsy shop)
Letters: Basic Grey, Sassafras, october afternoon
Sadly, this month, sketch challenge blog and forum - Sassy Lil Sketches - is closing. I have been on the design team for the past 8 months and had such fun creating layouts each month. Lots of great creative ladies.... I wish Katie and Cherie luck with their next adventures!
SO.... in a Sassy send off - for October, I have completed all of the sketches for the month... here they are:
I love the ones that are mounted to clear acrylic blocks, so I can see where I am stamping... it really took that "OMG" factor out of it for me!!" - Mistra
And being on the creative team, I also get to play along for some extra inspiration. So here is my layout for the month, using some of the stamps in my stash:
I used a quote stamp down one side of the layout as the background and drew the title from this quote as well. I love how my clock turned out - I stamped the clock onto a doiley. Once the ink had dried I picked a smooch ink from my stash....
I picked snickerdoodle. (big stash--Ha ha ha!)
And then painted the clock face. Also stamped and hand cut another clock face and stuck on the a foam dot. Also used my script stamp on the brown scalloped circle. Then I added the usual pretty embellishments to finish.
NOW - pull those stamps out of your stash and then pull all your new wonderful goodies you just bought from RES, and get creating!!!!
Have your layout loaded to Mistra's Mystery Challenge Gallery before midnight 31st October to have a chance to win!!
